    Program Recognition Guidelines

    ParameterGuideline
    Program locationSponsoring institution of NMAA program must be accredited by recognized regional, national, or state agency and be legally authorized to provide program of postsecondary education; all academic affiliates must be accredited by recognized regional, national, or state agency
    Program responsibilitiesProgram is responsible for establishing admissions criteria and curricular plan; maintaining and documenting effective supervision, coordination, and continuing communication with all affiliated academic and clinical institutions to ensure that students receive equivalent and adequate instruction and clinical experiences; initiating formal affiliation agreement whenever another institution provides academic or clinical education to students as part of a professional program; and ensuring that activities assigned to students in a clinical setting are educational
    Program personnelSponsoring institution must provide or ensure that there is sufficient administrative, instructional, and support personnel for curriculum and program enrollment; program’s personnel include, but are not limited to, program director, medical advisor, instructional faculty, and staff support
    Program resourcesSponsor’s human, physical, financial, and learning resources must be sufficient to support educational goals and number of students admitted into program
    Clinical affiliation sitesAll clinical affiliation sites must be accredited by American College of Radiology, Intersocietal Accreditation Commission, or the Joint Commission
    Clinical curriculumClinical component of program must provide an environment for supervised, competency-based clinical education and offer a sufficient and well-balanced variety of nuclear medicine procedures
