Iterative reconstruction algorithms have been proposed as a tool to increase the quality of tomographic images. Here, tomographic slices reoriented along the major cardiac axes were obtained from an iterative reconstruction of a gated SPECT phantom study. The reconstruction protocol included 3-dimensional ordered-subsets expectation maximization.
