Fused PET/CT (left) and PET (right) images obtained 1 h after injection of 543.9 MBq of 18F-FDG show intense uptake of the tracer in normal muscle. During the prestudy interview, the patient claimed to have eaten nothing that morning. When questioned again after the study, the patient admitted to having had pancakes and syrup for breakfast.
