Lyn Mehlberg Ascends to SNMTS Presidency
Lyn Mehlberg, CNMT, assumed the presidency of the SNMTS in June when outgoing SNMTS President Frances Keech, clipped Mehlberg’s ribbon. The ribbon clipping ceremony, symbolizing the passing of the reins of responsibility from the president to the president-elect (the word “elect” is clipped from the new president’s membership ribbon) took place at the SNMTS business meeting held June 24 in New Orleans in conjunction with the SNMTS Annual Meeting.
David Perry Honored as Fellow of the SNMTS
David Perry, CNMT, was invested as a Fellow of the SNMTS at the SNM Annual Meeting in recognition of his many contributions to the Technologist Section. Outgoing President Frances Keech, MBA, RT(N), presented Perry with a plaque in his honor. Perry, manager of radiology at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO, currently serves as chair of the Publications Committee and head of the Uptake Editorial Board and is chair of the PET/CT Task Force as well.
Outstanding JNMT Papers Recognized
The authors of 3 scientific papers and a case report published in the JNMT during 2002 were honored for outstanding contributions to the scientific literature of nuclear medicine technology. The first place award carried a $500.00 prize, and the best case report award winner received a check for $100.000. JNMT Editor Beth Harkness presented the awards and certificates at the 2003 SNM Annual Meeting last June in New Orleans.
