Abstract

Background: Bladder duplication is a rare congenital urinary tract malformation, and very few cases reported in the worldwide. Case presentation: We reported a case of an incomplete bladder duplication diagnosed by Single photon emission computed tomography / computed tomography( SPECT/CT) in 65-yeas-old male with lung cancer. SPECT/CT resulted in a change of diagnosis compared to whole-body planar bone scintigraphy in a cancer patient with suspected bone metastasis. Bladder duplication is a rare anomaly. Conclusion: Usually, bladder duplication is diagnosed by ultrasound or Intra Venous Urography (IVU) . To our knowledge this was the first documented case of an incomplete bladder duplication discovered by SPECT/CT.
