The spring meeting of the JRCNMT was held April 4–5, 2008, in Oklahoma City, OK. During this meeting the board of directors approved requests for 32 personnel changes and 9 changes to existing programs. The board considered 1 follow-up report and 7 progress reports from accredited programs.

Initial accreditation was granted to the following nuclear medicine technology programs (resurvey dates in parentheses):

The committee will review 13 nuclear medicine technology programs seeking continued accreditation in 2009. Written third-party testimony may be submitted to the JRCNMT regarding any nuclear medicine technology program undergoing review. The deadline for submissions is April 1, 2009. Persons desiring to present third-party oral testimony at a board meeting must submit a written request. Third-party testimony, written and oral, must be limited to the educational program's compliance with the Essentials and Guidelines for an Accredited Educational Program for the Nuclear Medicine Technologist.

The Joint Review Committee on Educational Programs in Nuclear Medicine Technology (JRCNMT) invites public comment on the current draft of its new Accreditation Standards for Nuclear Medicine Technologist Education. An open invitation to suggest changes is extended to all interested parties, including university and program administrators; faculty; practitioners; representatives of regulatory, certification, accreditation, state, and federal agencies; students; alumni; employers of nuclear medicine technologists; and others with an interest in the preparation of competent nuclear medicine technologists.
The current draft document is available for review by going to the JRCNMT website at http://www.jrcnmt.org. A special message on the opening page will guide you to the document. Comments must be received at the JRCNMT offices by the deadline indicated. Comments may be directed at the document in its entirety or at any individual standard. Please be specific in offering your comments, including specific language you would like to see incorporated, deleted, or amended.
