MEETINGS

The JRCNMT held its semiannual meeting on October 22–23, 2004, in Oak Brook, IL. During the meeting the Board of Directors took the following actions:

1) Approved personnel changes at 16 programs, program changes at 7 programs, and denied program changes at 5 programs;

2) Considered 4 follow-up reports, one midcycle report, and 17 progress reports from accredited programs;

3) Granted recognition to 57 new clinical affiliates;

4) Granted extended accreditation to 7 programs;

5) Granted Voluntary Withdrawal of Accreditation to the Oregon Institute of Technology, Klamath Falls, OR;

6) Granted Administrative Probationary Accreditation to Broward Community College, Coconut Creek, FL, with a resurvey date of 2005; and

7) Granted continued accreditation to the following programs (resurvey year in parentheses):

University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City, IA (in 2011)

Prince George’s Community College, Largo, MD (in 2007)

Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, Boston, MA (in 2011)

Research Medical Center, Kansas City, MO (in 2011)

University of Nebraska Medical Center, Omaha, NE (in 2011)

University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, Scotch Plains, NJ (in 2005)

Chattanooga State Technical Community College, Chattanooga, TN (in 2009)

The review committee will schedule site visits to 19 nuclear medicine technology programs seeking continued accreditation during 2005. A list of programs undergoing review in the year 2005 is appended at the end of this article. Written third-party testimony may be submitted regarding any nuclear medicine technology program undergoing review. Persons desiring to present third-party oral testimony must submit a written request. Third-party testimony, written and oral, must be limited to the educational program’s compliance with the Essentials and Guidelines for an Accredited Educational Program for the Nuclear Medicine Technologist.

The spring meeting of the JRCNMT Board of Directors is scheduled for April 22–23, 2005.

The JRCNMT welcomed 2 new members to the Board of Directors. The new members are Richard States, MBA, CNMT, RT(N), appointed by the American Society of Radiologic Technologists, and Gary L. Dillehay, MD, appointed by the American College of Radiology.
