Cardio-oncology imaging tools at the translational interface
2022, Journal of Molecular and Cellular CardiologyCitation Excerpt :Myocardial sympathetic denervation, while there is systemic sympathetic hyperactivation, is a hallmark of heart failure. This is of special interest in patients with heart failure with reduced left ventricular ejection fraction as it allows a specific risk stratification [96]. So far, its use in cardio-oncological patients was not investigated, but myocardial sympathetic denervation may precede mechanical functional impairment.
