Neuroimaging of Adult Lacrimal Drainage System
2021, Current Problems in Diagnostic RadiologyCitation Excerpt :Dacryoscintigraphy provides a noninvasive, sensitive, and tolerable method for assessment of the physiologic tear outflow and pathologic epiphora.14 However, dacryoscintigraphy have major shortcomings including poor spatial resolution, anatomy assessment, and extent/detection of extrinsic masses.15 Contrast dacryocystography (DCG), was historically considered by many the primary study for evaluation of epiphora when no mass is suspected.16
Dispensing and administration of radiopharmaceuticals for dacryoscintigraphy
2006, Journal of the American Pharmacists AssociationCitation Excerpt :Several chemical forms of Tc-99m radiopharmaceuticals have been used for dacryoscintigraphy. Although Tc-99m sodium pertechnetate has been most common,1,3,5,9,11–15,17–19 Tc-99m colloids such as sulfur colloid,2,6,8,16 albumin colloid,7 and tin colloid 4,10 have also been used. Each of these is equally successful in producing high-quality diagnostic images of transit through the lacrimal duct.
