AB This is the last article in a four-part series on positron emission tomography (PET). Upon completing the article, the reader should be able to: (1) comprehend the various components of the planning process for PET; (2) explain the technical aspects related to radiation protection, radiochemical synthesis, site planning, and acceptance testing; (3) identify staffing requirements for a clinical PET center; (4) identify the numerous pieces of additional equipment necessary for PET radiochemistry and imaging; and (5) prepare PET capital equipment and operating expense budgets.
