Nucl. Med. Technol.1994 Dec 01; 22 AB - Objective: The skills of individual nuclear medicine technologists vary widely across the nation. Methods: In order to ensure that technologists have the same knowledge base, the Socio-Economic Affairs Committee of the Technologist Section of the Society of Nuclear Medicine developed a set of guidelines compiled from various sources. Results: As complete as the following guidelines may be, by the time they are published, they may be already partially obsolete in the ever-changing field of nuclear medicine technology. Conclusions: These guidelines are not to be considered as rules that a technologist must adhere to, but rather as a checklist to enable the technologist to have a broader understanding of his or her profession.
