AB We constructed a dynamic lung phantom in which various ventilatory abnormalities could be simulated from a piece of soft foam covered with latex rubber. This phantom was then used to illustrate the effects of detector collimation as well as the influence of the physical characteristics of Xe-133 and Kr-81m on image quality.
