Speedy CE: Balancing the Need for Education with the Need for Efficiency
National, chapter and local Nuclear Medicine meetings are designed not only to educate the technologist, but also to provide the credits needed for credentialing or licensure. In addition, they are a great time to renew friendships and exchange ideas. We take for granted the availability of these meetings and our opportunities to attend them.
Many technologists, however, are not so fortunate. They live in outlying areas or have constraints that do not permit them the time or means to travel. The Technologist Section continues to explore opportunities to better serve these individuals. We are introducing one such opportunity this June via a new continuing education activity: Speedy CE.
A multi-volume series, each Speedy CE volume will consist of journal articles with questions and a response sheet for the answers. Each article will be worth 1.0 CEH, but you will need to complete the whole volume to earn credit. The cost per book and amount of credit available will vary depending on the number of articles in each volume. (Of course, there will be a discount price for SNM-TS members!) For a modest fee, a technologist can earn the Continuing Education Hours (CEHs) normally acquired at a 1-day meeting.
Speedy CE Volume 1 will be available in Toronto. Be sure to let your friends and co-workers know about this new CE opportunity!
