Accreditation Actions
Initial accreditation was granted to the nuclear medicine technology program at South College, Knoxville, TN (resurvey date 2008).
Extended accreditation was granted to the following nuclear medicine technology programs (resurvey dates in parentheses):
Continued accreditation was granted to the nuclear medicine technology programs at:
Probationary accreditation was granted to the nuclear medicine technology program at Galveston College, Galveston, TX (2007) and administrative probationary accreditation was granted to the nuclear medicine technology program at the University of Cincinnati, Cincinnati, OH (2007).
The committee will review 11 nuclear medicine technology programs seeking continued accreditation in 2008. Written third party testimony may be submitted to the JRCNMT regarding any nuclear medicine technology program undergoing review. Persons desiring to present third-party oral testimony at a board meeting must submit a written request. Third-party testimony, written and oral, must be limited to the educational program's compliance with the Essentials and Guidelines for an Accredited Educational Program for the Nuclear Medicine Technologist.

Call for Input
JRCNMT invites comments on its Essentials and Guidelines for an Accredited Educational Program for the Nuclear Medicine Technologist (revised 2003). An open invitation to suggest changes is extended to all parties with an interest in the preparation of competent nuclear medicine technologists, including university and program administrators, faculty, practitioners, students, alumni, employers of nuclear medicine technologists, and representatives of regulatory, certification, accreditation, state, and federal agencies.
The entire standards document is available for review by going to the JRCNMT website at www.jrcnmt.org and clicking on the Essentials and Guidelines link. Comments must be received at the JRCNMT offices by December 1. Comments may be directed at the Essentials in their entirety or at any individual essential or guideline. Please be specific in offering your comments, including specific language you would like to see incorporated, deleted, or amended. Note that there will be an additional opportunity to comment after a draft incorporating initial input is developed and disseminated.
